TO ALL WINDSURFERS rnThis is a call to all windsurfers in the world
On May 5, 2012 ISAF made a decision that as of 2016 windsurfing will no longer be an olympic sport. We disagree with the decision and will follow ISAF regulations to try and overturn the decision. We should make a strong statement to the ISAF and IOC officials that windsurfing needs to stay olympic.
If you are a serious windsurfer and you want your sport to stay olympic, get organised and set up a RACE and get as many surfers on the water as possible on:
GLOBAL WINDSURF DAY

GLOBAL WINDSURF DAY is a worldwide action to get as many windsurfers as possible on the water at the same time. Slalom, Formula, Raceboard, Techno, RS:X and Wave riders.
Our goal is:
– To highlight the fact that this decision does not just remove a sailling class but rather totally undermines the sport of courserace windsurfing on top level. rn- To get windsurfing back on the agenda of the ISAF meeting in November 2012. rn- To convince the voting countries to revisit their decision.
We ask all surfers, the sailing-associations, class-organisations and clubs to support GLOBAL WINDSURF DAY in word and action.
– Tell all your windsurf friends, your parents and officials. Spread the word on FB, twitter, through the mail or your blog. rn- Check all upcoming events and ask the organisations for support. Set already scheduled races or events in the attention of GLOBAL WINDSURFING DAY. rn- Organise a kick-off event on Saturday september 29th. rn- Organise all kind of promotional activities during the week. Clubs open their doors for all interested parties. rn- See what your club can do in this last week or have a windsurf demonstration with your friends. rn- Feel free to launch other ideas how to advertise GWD. rn- The programme you come up with will be published so everybody can read your plans. rn- Organise a finale race on Sunday october 7th. – An album will be made and presented to ISAF. rn- All events in all countries will be listed on your nation page. Invite public and press as much as possible.
